A Request for Honest Critic

A Request for Honest Critic

This poem has been mostly my effort but with a lot of suggestions from Dr. Thomas Pfau , Texas Christian University (TCU), and the writing center at TCU.

Tell me honest. Tell me true. Tell me how my rhymes are viewed.
Good or bad, kind or cruel, show me how I can improve.
Though I try to be true, what I see is somewhat skewed.

Now I tried to be true, but it looks like rubbish spewed
From a broken record player, stuck a running in a groove.
Tell me honest and true. Tell me how my rhymes are viewed.

Now I may be too harsh, and when my rhymes are reviewed
That even critics, hard and harsh, will applaud and approve.
Though I try to be true, what I feel is somewhat skewed.

Now I feel some distress, and in my heart there is a feud.
Are these rhymes any good, or they like trash to be remove?
Tell me honest and true. Tell me how my rhymes are viewed.

Now my heart is burdened by rhymes that seem so shallow, nude.
Are my rhymes very crude and will the readers disapprove?
Though I try to be true, what I feel is somewhat skewed.

Now this rhyme you have read, and maybe others I have stewed.
So take a stand, share your views, only please don’t stand aloof.
Tell me honest and true. Tell me how my rhymes are viewed.
Though I try to be true, what I feel is somewhat skewed.
