Wedding Poetry.

Note to self: I need to get the poem that I wrote for Weng On and Mandy. I would love to get a copy of the poem I wrote for Adeline, but I guess that is not going to happen

Lai Peng, Joy of Keong's Desiring (Version 0.30 Beta)
To the underlying choral melody by Johann Schop from BWV 147 by Bach.

Be thou the joy and the pride of my brother's desire
As thou art the wife of my brother
My brother, your husband, a lifetime

Together in gladness, in sadness
in light and in darkness
in health and in wealth
May your find happiness, hand in hand, side by side

Be thou alive and a light by the side of my brother
A light for a lifetime to cherish
To Cherish, till one life shall perish

Beautiful Child
--
O, look at that child in peaceful sleep.
A beauty that lies at least skin deep
So what in the world would trouble her mind,
And what of the joy or sorrow she’ll find?

O, look at that child in a restful nap.
In a world full of dreams, there she is apt.
A world full of hugs, kisses and joy
A world without want - roof, food or toys.

O, look at that child in peaceful rest.
Deep in her world with everything best
But when she awakes, her dreams to complete
In a world full of madness, there she’ll compete.

O, look at that child in blissful sleep
Gone to a world where there’s no cause to weep
But back in this world where she will find
A gnashing of teeth and people are blind.

My Name
--
I do believe I have a name.
A name which I am called by.
A name given by my folks,
And not for you to change.

I do believe I have a name,
A name which I will answer.
My name is sacred to me,
And not for you to alter.

I do believe I have a name,
A name which I respond to.
A name is precious to me,
And not for your amendment.

I do believe I have a name,
A name which I reply to.
My name is my name.
And only my name I respond to!

A Request for Honest Critic

A Request for Honest Critic
(Version 1.04) By Tam Weng Seng

Comments
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This poem has been mostly my effort but with a lot of suggestions from Dr. Thomas Pfau , Texas Christian University (TCU), and the writing center at TCU.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tell me honest. Tell me true. Tell me how my rhymes are viewed.
Good or bad, kind or cruel, show me how I can improve.
Though I try to be true, what I see is somewhat skewed.

Now I tried to be true, but it looks like rubbish spewed
From a broken record player, stuck a running in a groove.
Tell me honest and true. Tell me how my rhymes are viewed.

Now I may be too harsh, and when my rhymes are reviewed
That even critics, hard and harsh, will applaud and approve.
Though I try to be true, what I feel is somewhat skewed.

Now I feel some distress, and in my heart there is a feud.
Are these rhymes any good, or they like trash to be remove?
Tell me honest and true. Tell me how my rhymes are viewed.

Now my heart is burdened by rhymes that seem so shallow, nude.
Are my rhymes very crude and will the readers disapprove?
Though I try to be true, what I feel is somewhat skewed.

Now this rhyme you have read, and maybe others I have stewed.
So take a stand, share your views, only please don’t stand aloof.
Tell me honest and true. Tell me how my rhymes are viewed.
Though I try to be true, what I feel is somewhat skewed.

Aquarius, the Wet Nose Rain Deer.

Aquarius, the wet nose rain deer
Had a swollen runny nose
And if you ever saw it
You would think it was a tap

All of the other rain deer
Used to run away in disgust
They wouldn't let Aquarius
Join in any rain rain dance

Then one hot and humid night
A shaman came to say
"Aquarius with your nose so wet
Won't you help me make it rain?"

Then all the rain deer muttered
As they glared at him with hate
Aquarius, the wet nose rain deer
You'll go down in my story.

My Grandfather’s Road
(Sung to “My Grandfather’s Clock”)

My grandfather’s road was too wide for myself,
So I let motorists use it too.
It was wide enough for ten cars side by side
But only two cars with me
Then I ate lunch, tea and dinner too,
And now no more cars can drive through.

Walking on a busy road is frightfully fun,
Walking on a busy road is frightfully fun,
When I stop short, to tie up my shoes,
All the cars behind me stopped too.

Cursing the Rain
(Sung to “Stoodla Poompa”)

Walking along and looking at the rain,
All things be fine if only I were dry.
Walking along and looking at the rain,
All things be fine if only I were dry.

Chorus:
Muttering Curses (X6)
Muttering Curses at the Rain.

My ‘brollie works, and so my head is dry
But cursed wind, made everything else wet.
My ‘brollie works, and so my head is dry
But cursed wind, made everything else wet.

[Repeat chorus.]

Cursing the wind with every step I take,
Cause now I have a bowl of water on a stick.
Cursing the rain with every step I take,
Cause now I have a bowl of water on a stick.

[Repeat chorus.]

I like these shoes for comfort that they give.
But cursed shoes, they soak up lots of rain.
I like these shoes for comfort that they give.
But cursed shoes, they soak up lots of rain.

[Repeat chorus.]

(Sung to "Skip to the Lou")

My bladder’s full, what shall I do?
My bladder’s full, what shall I do?
My bladder’s full, what shall I do?
skip to the loo, my darling.

Chorus:
Loo, Loo, skip to the loo.
Loo, Loo, skip to the loo.
skip to the loo, my darling.

My tummy aches, what shall I do?
My tummy aches, what shall I do?
My tummy aches, what shall I do?
Skip to the loo, my darling.

[Repeat chorus.]

A laugh. A touch. A cuddle. A hug.

(Version 1.00)

A laugh. A touch. A cuddle. A hug.
A sunrise. A sunset. A rainbow. The sky.
For need, for love, or for feeling snug.

A heart of an angel. A tiny thug.
Testing boundaries. Questioning. "Why?"
A laugh. A touch. A cuddle. A hug.

A sulk or a pout with a whiney tug.
Hands held high and a plaintive cry
For need, for love, or for feeling snug.

A swing. A toss. A look so smug.
A smile. A use. A joy so high
A laugh. A touch. A cuddle, A hug.

A grin or grimace for a shiny mug.
A painting, a photo to remember by.
For need, for love, or for feeling snug.

A scene from heaven, A high on drugs
Can n'er compare. Defeated by
A laugh. A touch. A Cuddle, A hug.
For need, for love, or for feeling snug.
