To Being Again (Take 2)

A person can stand in a shower
And think that it rains all the time.
A person can stand beneath a heat lamp
And think the world is always sunny.
A person can refuse to look around
And think they hold the high ground.
A person can refuse to truly listen
And think that the world is silent.

A person can live among mirrors
And claim to see diversity.
A person can dwell within a cave
And hear echoes as consensus.
A person can hold a candle’s flame
And think it lights the night.
A person can swim in shallow seas
And claim to have plumbed the depths.

A person can build tall walls
And think division makes them safe.
A person can ignore all signs
And swear they’ve found the way.
A person can dwell in darkness
And claim the world is cruel.
A person can refuse to open doors
And claim the world is closed.

Yet even in the darkest hours,
There is love,
There is hope,
There is faith.

So sometimes …
A ray of sunshine,
A drop of rain,
A child’s tale,
A voice from the past,
A shattered mirror,
A lighthouse beam,
A patient guide,
A giant tsunami

Pierces the delusion.
And for a moment,
We remember:
The world is larger
Than our group.

And maybe …
That is enough

To begin again.

For My Baby Faith

Baby Girl
(Inspired by Twinkle Twinkle Little Star)
Tiny fetal baby girl
How I wonder how you are?
In your mother's womb so small
Punching, kicking, rolling round
Tiny Fetal baby girl
Daddy loves you as you are.

Newborn little baby girl
How I wonder how you are?
Sleeping in your cot so calm
Dreaming dreams you cannot share
Newborn little baby girl
Daddy loves you as you are.

Infant little baby girl
How I wonder how you are?
Frowning, fussing, crying loud
Fighting hard to stay awake
Infant little baby girl
Daddy loves you as you are.

I'm a little baby
(Inspired by I'm a little teapot)

I'm a little baby
Short and cute
I have two arms
and I have two legs
When I'm getting hungry
Hear me cry
Pick me up and  feed me milk

I'm a special baby
Yes, its true.
Here's an example of what I can do
I can turn this white milk to brown poo
Wait and watch, you'll smell it too

Faith is her name-o
(Inspired by Bingo is his name-o)

We have a little baby girl
And Faith is her name-o
F-a-i-t-h
F-a-i-t-h
F-a-i-t-h
And Faith is her name-o

Counting sheep
(Inspired by the rhyme 10 Little Indians)

1 little, 2 little, 3 little baby sheep
4 little, 5 little, 6 little baby sheep
7 little, 8 little, 9 little baby sheep
10 little baby lambs

10 little, 9 little, 8 little baby sheep
7 little, 6 little, 5 little baby sheep
4 little, 3 little, 2 little baby sheep
time for you to sleep

Clouds

Clouds
(Version 1.00)

See the clouds in the sky
See the clouds way up high
See the clouds pour down rain
Like tears washing away the pain

See the clouds wondering far
See the clouds no borders bar
See the clouds grow day by day
Like a child going on its way

See the clouds go everywhere
See the clouds float anywhere
See the clouds with out a care
Like castles floating in the air

The Office Hokey Pokey

The Office Hokey Pokey

You put some garbage in
You take some garbage out
You put some garbage in
and you shake it all about

Chorus:
You do some hokey pokey
and you hope to keep your job
That's what its all about

You throw some numbers in
You pull some numbers out
You throw some numbers in
and then you add them up

[Repeat chorus]

You draw some diagrams here
You draw some diagrams there
You draw some diagrams where
and you hope its close enough

[Repeat chorus]

You throw some jargon here
You throw some jargon there
You throw some jargon here
and hope you fool them all

[Repeat chorus]

You point your finger left
You point your finger right
You point your finger left
and you push the buck the around

[Repeat chorus]

Wedding Poetry.

Note to self: I need to get the poem that I wrote for Weng On and Mandy. I would love to get a copy of the poem I wrote for Adeline, but I guess that is not going to happen

Lai Peng, Joy of Keong's Desiring (Version 0.30 Beta)
To the underlying choral melody by Johann Schop from BWV 147 by Bach.

Be thou the joy and the pride of my brother's desire
As thou art the wife of my brother
My brother, your husband, a lifetime

Together in gladness, in sadness
in light and in darkness
in health and in wealth
May your find happiness, hand in hand, side by side

Be thou alive and a light by the side of my brother
A light for a lifetime to cherish
To Cherish, till one life shall perish

Beautiful Child
--
O, look at that child in peaceful sleep.
A beauty that lies at least skin deep
So what in the world would trouble her mind,
And what of the joy or sorrow she’ll find?

O, look at that child in a restful nap.
In a world full of dreams, there she is apt.
A world full of hugs, kisses and joy
A world without want - roof, food or toys.

O, look at that child in peaceful rest.
Deep in her world with everything best
But when she awakes, her dreams to complete
In a world full of madness, there she’ll compete.

O, look at that child in blissful sleep
Gone to a world where there’s no cause to weep
But back in this world where she will find
A gnashing of teeth and people are blind.

My Name
--
I do believe I have a name.
A name which I am called by.
A name given by my folks,
And not for you to change.

I do believe I have a name,
A name which I will answer.
My name is sacred to me,
And not for you to alter.

I do believe I have a name,
A name which I respond to.
A name is precious to me,
And not for your amendment.

I do believe I have a name,
A name which I reply to.
My name is my name.
And only my name I respond to!

A Request for Honest Critic

A Request for Honest Critic
(Version 1.04) By Tam Weng Seng

Comments
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This poem has been mostly my effort but with a lot of suggestions from Dr. Thomas Pfau , Texas Christian University (TCU), and the writing center at TCU.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tell me honest. Tell me true. Tell me how my rhymes are viewed.
Good or bad, kind or cruel, show me how I can improve.
Though I try to be true, what I see is somewhat skewed.

Now I tried to be true, but it looks like rubbish spewed
From a broken record player, stuck a running in a groove.
Tell me honest and true. Tell me how my rhymes are viewed.

Now I may be too harsh, and when my rhymes are reviewed
That even critics, hard and harsh, will applaud and approve.
Though I try to be true, what I feel is somewhat skewed.

Now I feel some distress, and in my heart there is a feud.
Are these rhymes any good, or they like trash to be remove?
Tell me honest and true. Tell me how my rhymes are viewed.

Now my heart is burdened by rhymes that seem so shallow, nude.
Are my rhymes very crude and will the readers disapprove?
Though I try to be true, what I feel is somewhat skewed.

Now this rhyme you have read, and maybe others I have stewed.
So take a stand, share your views, only please don’t stand aloof.
Tell me honest and true. Tell me how my rhymes are viewed.
Though I try to be true, what I feel is somewhat skewed.
